NEW YORK—Willis North America said Thursday that Alastair Swift has been promoted to chief placement officer, effective immediately.

Mr. Swift is based in Willis’ New York office and leads a team of placement officers across North America. He also is responsible for Willis North America’s placement strategy and work with North American insurers.

Mr. Swift joined Willis in October 2008 when the brokerage acquired Hilb Rogal & Hobbs Co. Most recently, he was managing director of the Willis North America London property division.
