BLOOMFIELD, Conn.—David Guilmette has been named president of the national segment for CIGNA Corp.
Mr. Guilmette, who will be based in New York, most recently was managing director of global health and welfare for Towers Perrin, which recently merged with Watson Wyatt Worldwide to form Towers Watson & Co.
At Bloomfield, Conn.-based CIGNA, Mr. Guilmette will focus on driving growth among large employers and organizations, the health insurer said in a statement.
“Within our national segment, our focus is on improving health, productivity and performance for employers and the individual customers we serve, which leads to lower costs for all involved. Dave understands the promise we make as a company and has joined to help us drive that value to more people,” David M. Cordani, CIGNA's president and chief executive officer, said in a statement.
Sam Srivastava, who was president of national accounts and senior segment, will return to focus on the senior segment for the health insurer, according to a spokeswoman.
