LONDON—Markel International Ltd. said Wednesday that it has appointed Ewa Rose as managing director of its new trade credit division in London.

Ms. Rose, who was manager of the global trade credit business at ACE Group of Cos. the past seven years, will lead the trade credit division, the second new Markel International division to be launched in the past year.

The London arm of Richmond, Va.-based Markel Corp. launched an equine and livestock division in 2009.
