BRUSSELS—The Norwegian Risk Management Assn. has been accepted as a member of the Federation of European Risk Management Assns.

NORIMA becomes the 20th member of FERMA and brings to 18 the number of countries represented by the Brussels-based association.

“We have in our bylaws that we are seeking international experience and international cooperation, so becoming a member of FERMA is a natural way to go,” said Jan Granaas, NORIMA’s chairman, in a statement.

NORIMA, based in Oslo, was formally established in February, but the association has existed on an informal basis since 1995.

Members of NORIMA are insurance and risk managers from companies based in Norway, which can be Norwegian-owned or owned or controlled by foreigners.
