HAMILTON, Bermuda—Max Capital Group Ltd. has named David Kalainoff as president of reinsurance operations.
In a statement, the Hamilton, Bermuda-based insurer and reinsurer said Mr. Kalainoff, who joined Max Capital in 2003, will be responsible for the group’s reinsurance operations in its Bermuda-, Ireland- and U.S.-based units.
Mr. Kalainoff most recently co-led the company’s reinsurance operations with Adam Mullan, serving as Max Capital’s managing director of reinsurance as well as executive vp and chief underwriting officer of Casualty Reinsurance of Max Bermuda.
Mr. Kalainoff’s role was expanded after Max Capital appointed Mr. Mullan CEO of Max at Lloyd’s last month.
Prior to joining Max Capital, Mr. Kalainoff was senior vp of specialty casualty at New York-based Transatlantic Reinsurance Co.
The specialty insurer and reinsurer has been expanding significantly for the past few years, establishing its Max at Lloyd’s Ltd. platform and widening the reach of its U.S.-based specialty business.
