BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Workers compensation benefits increased an average of 4.1% across the United States and 1.8% across Canada between 2007 and 2008, according to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's 2008 "Analysis of Workers' Compensation Laws," released Thursday.

The average workers comp weekly benefit in the United States is now $736.75, with Iowa's the highest at $1,311, according to the annual analysis of 50 states, the District of Columbia and Canadian provinces and territories.

Canada's comp benefits grew at a slower pace than in the United States, the chamber found. Canada's average maximum weekly benefit is $782.06 Canadian ($768.60).
