BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Five join Comité Européen des Assurances

PRAGUE, Czech Republic--Five Eastern European countries became full members of the European insurance association at its annual general assembly in Prague, a location chosen to mark the expansion of the European Union in May.

The Brussels-based Comité Européen des Assurances announced in a statement that former associate members Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Slovakia and Slovenia have become full members and that Bulgaria has become an associate member.

In other business, Vladimír Mráz, vp of the Czech national insurance association, has joined the CEA's presidential council.

The CEA also elected Gérard de La Martinière as president to succeed Gijsbert Swalef at the meeting, which attracted 150 insurance executives. Mr. de la Martiniere is chairman of the French insurance association, Fédération Française Sociétés d'Assurance.
