LONDON--David Gittings, director of the U.K. Financial Services Authority's insurance firms division, will leave his post on Sept. 13 to join Wellington Underwriting Agencies Ltd.

Mr. Gittings, a former director of regulation at Lloyd's of London, will join the board of London-based Wellington. He will be responsible for risk management, group legal services and human resources at the Lloyd's managing agency.

Mr. Gittings joined the U.K. financial services regulator from Lloyd's in April to help John Tiner--FSA managing director of consumer, investment and insurance matters--explore ways to improve the regulation of insurers. The project will not be hampered by Mr. Gittings' departure, an FSA spokesman said.
