Ransomware attack on Axa unit disrupts operations

A ransomware attack on one of French insurer Axa SA’s Asian Assistance divisions affected the company’s operations across several Asian nations on May 16, Reuters reported citing Financial Times. The insurer said that some data processed by Inter Partners Asia in Thailand was compromised in the attack. The attackers stole three terabytes of data from the affected units in Thailand, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and the Philippines.
