Insurers receive nearly 12,000 flood claims and counting

Data from the Insurance Council of Australia showed that the insurers have received around 11,700 insurance claims related to the ongoing storms and flooding in New South Wales, with more claims expected to be lodged in the upcoming days, Reinsurance News reported. The floods have damaged roads and houses and have knocked out telecommunications and power supply in several areas. An insurance catastrophe has been declared in New South Wales.
