Rio Tinto sues contractor for $350 million over fire

U.K.-based mining firm Rio Tinto Ltd. has sued a unit of Australian engineering contractor Monadelphous Group Ltd. for $493 million Australia ($352 million) over a fire at its iron ore processing facility at Western Australia, Reuters reported. The amount largely consists of losses that Rio Tinto incurred for not being able to process iron ore during the period of repair work at the facility.
