An explosion and fire occurred at a factory next to a chemical storage facility in Melbourne on May 23, forcing authorities to close roads and issue smoke alerts in the area, The Age reported citing sources. The chemical storage facility contained tens of thousands of liters of toxic waste, allegedly part of an illicit dumping operation spanning 12 factories in north Melbourne, the sources said.
