ILS, cat bond market's value totals $35 billion

The insurance-linked securities and catastrophe bond market's value totaled nearly $35 billion at the end of 2018, up 15% from $30.5 billion in 2017, Artemis.bm reports. The cat bond and ILS market's issuance totaled nearly $14 billion in 2018. The ILS and cat bond market issued 14 transactions amounting to nearly $2 billion with catastrophe risk accounting for 32% or $682 million in the fourth quarter of 2018.
