Genoa bridge collapse costs companies nearly $500 million

The Genoa Chamber of Commerce in Italy said that the Aug. 14 bridge collapse cost local companies around €422 million ($482 million), Reuters reported. The association said that the catastrophe caused €63 million worth of damage to properties, buildings, machinery and stock. The companies also suffered €359 million in disruption-related losses driven by rise in costs and lower profits following the bridge's collapse.
