Storm Eleanor causes power outages, flight cancellationsReprints
Storm Eleanor that hit Europe on Jan. 3 halted flights, derailed trains and toppled trees, World First reported. High winds derailed trains in Switzerland and Germany, and led to cancellation of flights at Zurich and Basel airports in Switzerland, and caused delays at Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris. France's national electricity provider said the storm left around 200,000 households without power. Fallen trees and floods partially blocked highways near Duisburg and Juelich in Germany.
