Insurance industry revenue rises 6%

Alexandre Camillo, president of Brazil-based insurance brokers' union Sindicato dos Corretores de Seguro no Estado de Sao Paulo, said that the local insurance industry's revenue grew 6% year over year to $39.6 billion from January to July in the year, BNamericas reported. The revenue figures exclude health insurance and private pension products. Mr. Camillo said that the industry's revenue is expected to grow 8% for this year Brazil's economy recovers.
