Alberta wildfires force oil sands producers to shut down operationsReprints
Raging wildfires have forced Canadian oil sands producers Cenovus Energy Inc. and Canadian Natural Resources Ltd. to shut their projects and evacuate workers at Pelican Lake facilities in northern Alberta, reports Reuters.
The wildfires have disrupted output for the second time in five weeks. Cenovus has closed operations and evacuated all 118 workers from its Pelican Lake project. Cenovus said that there was no damage reported to its facilities or infrastructure.
