Investors sue Volkswagen for $3.63 billion over breach of duty

Law firm TISAB has said that 278 institutional investors in Volkswagen A.G. have filed a €3.25 billion ($3.63 billion) lawsuit against the German automaker for neglecting duty towards the capital markets during the emissions scandal, reports Reuters.

The lawsuit focuses on the timeframe between June 2008 and Sept. 18, 2015.

The institutional investors that have filed the lawsuit against the automaker include German insurers and U.S.-based California Public Employees' Retirement System.
