Iranian shipping firm close to insuring vessels after lifting of sanctions

Nasrollah Sardashti, an official at Iran-based shipping firm National Iranian Tanker Co., said the company is close to insuring its vessels against risks like oil spills following the lifting of sanctions, reported Bloomberg.

NITC has been in talks with foreign organizations for the last six months to insure its vessels and is now "close to an agreement," Mr. Sardashti said. He said that Iran has been using Kish P&I Club and now needs to go to the International Group of P&I Clubs for wider coverage of its existing shipments.
