Flood-hit businesses demand national flood insurance program

Businesses affected by the recent floods in Ireland have demanded a national insurance levy to permit full access to flood insurance for all businesses, reported Irish Independent.

Colin Mulhall, managing partner at accounting firm Lloyd Bowmaker Ltd., said that insurers "should consider the implementation of a minimalist levy." Mr. Mulhall said the scheme would offer protection for vulnerable firms.
