El Nino likely to cause $3.7 billion in damage

The Peruvian insurers association has said that the projected El Nino in 2016 in the country is likely to cause damage worth $3.7 billion, reports Poder.pe.

The regions that would be the most affected due to El Nino are Piura, La Libertad, Tumbes and Lambayeque. Eduardo Moron, president of the association, said only 15% of the damage was insured during the El Nino of 1997. The
