6.5-magnitude aftershock hits Chile

The United States Geological Survey has said that a latest 6.5-magnitude aftershock has hit central Chile following the magnitude 8.3 quake that hit the country on Sept. 16, reports Reuters.

The 8.3-magnitude quake and a tsunami hit Coquimbo city and claimed 13 lives.

A Chilean emergency service said that no damage or injuries have been reported from the latest quake.

Chile is among the most seismically active nations in the world.
