James Nash, chief executive of Asia-Pacific at Guy Carpenter & Co. L.L.C., has said that Asia is now a net exporter of merger and acquisition capital in the insurance and reinsurance sector as more capital flows to the West, reported Asia Insurance Review.
Asian outbound deals totaled $20 billion compared with inbound deals of $849 million until September, Mr. Nash said. "We expect the M&A trend to continue as insurers, reinsurers and funds in the region pursue growth and diversification by going West, but we also anticipate a larger number of intra-region deals and also capital from the West coming East," added Mr. Nash.
