Tropical storm Blanca has hit Mexico's Baja California peninsula, The Associated Press reported.

Flooding and power outages have been reported in some areas in the Los Cabos region, local media said.

Rains and high winds are likely to hit the peninsula as the storm weakens further.

Initially a category 4 hurricane, Blanca faded to a tropical storm by the time it made landfall.
