Singer tells Lloyd's to un-break contract

Toni Braxton wants Lloyd's of London to let the claims payments flow and pay off on its insurance contract.
According to reports, the Grammy award-winning R&B songstress, famous for her 1996 hit "Un-Break My Heart," is suing Lloyd's for its refusal to indemnify her when she canceled a series of shows at the Flamingo Las Vegas Hotel & Casino last year.
The suit, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, argues that Ms. Braxton bought "nonappearance" and "cancellation" insurance to protect her in the event her concerts would have to be canceled.
Ms. Braxton alleges that Lloyd's refused to pay on the grounds that the cancellations were caused by an undisclosed, pre-existing condition. Ms. Braxton suffers from a heart condition and says she has been public about it since its discovery in 2003, according to reports.
In April 2008, Ms. Braxton canceled a concert at the Flamingo after being hospitalized for chest pains. Her show was shut down shortly thereafter so she could recover, canceling a run that was to continue into late 2008.
Ms. Braxton asserts that Lloyd's was to insure her for up to $2.8 million, according to reports. She reportedly is seeking $1.2 million on the coverage for which she reportedly paid $70,000.
