BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Scabby the Rat fails to unionize opinions

Unionized workers who want to protest treatment or wages might not always be able to bring along their favorite mascot: a rabid, red-eyed rodent named Scabby the Rat.

Often seen as a massive inflatable ornament at protests, Scabby the Rat’s presence is set be reviewed by the National Labor Relations Board, which intends rule on the circumstances under which the giant rat can participate, Bloomberg Law reported on Tuesday.

This, despite several court findings that Scabby the Rat is protected by the First Amendment, according to the article.

The union announcement follows a “campaign” against the rat by the board’s General Counsel Peter Robb, “who is said to loathe the image of the rabid rodent with bloodshot eyes and bared teeth,” the article states.

Crabby over Scabby, Mr. Robb has advocated for banning Scabby from protests when workers are protesting someone other than their direct employer, according to the article.
