BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Nevada health and safety inspectors found that about 88% of the businesses it visited Monday are following state COVID-19 compliance measures.

The Nevada Occupational Safety and Health Administration observed COVID-19 protocols at 73 businesses in the state in a variety of public-facing establishments to inspect whether the businesses were following face covering rules, maintaining social distance and following cleaning and disinfection guidelines. Nevada OSHA found that 100% of casino and hotel pools it inspected were compliant with COVID-19 health and safety recommendations, and that 92% percent of the restaurants observed were following recommended protocols.

Among other industries visited, inspectors observed COVID-19 compliance at:

  • 83% of 18 gyms visited
  • 75% of four non-hotel/casino pools visited
  • 75% compliance at a waterpark
  • No compliance at an automobile sales/services center

Nevada OSHA has received nearly 1,300 coronavirus-related complaints since mid-March, and the agency has investigated nearly 1,800 businesses in the state, finding a cumulative compliance rate of about 80%, with 86% compliance in northern Nevada and 74% compliance in southern Nevada.

The agency has issued 98 citations from those investigations with average penalties between $4,390 and $5,880.
