Nevada health and safety inspectors found that about 88% of the businesses it visited Monday are following state COVID-19 compliance measures.
The Nevada Occupational Safety and Health Administration observed COVID-19 protocols at 73 businesses in the state in a variety of public-facing establishments to inspect whether the businesses were following face covering rules, maintaining social distance and following cleaning and disinfection guidelines. Nevada OSHA found that 100% of casino and hotel pools it inspected were compliant with COVID-19 health and safety recommendations, and that 92% percent of the restaurants observed were following recommended protocols.

Nevada OSHA has received nearly 1,300 coronavirus-related complaints since mid-March, and the agency has investigated nearly 1,800 businesses in the state, finding a cumulative compliance rate of about 80%, with 86% compliance in northern Nevada and 74% compliance in southern Nevada.
The agency has issued 98 citations from those investigations with average penalties between $4,390 and $5,880.
