BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

MedRisk acquires therapy specialty network

MedRisk Inc. has acquired physical and occupational therapy specialty network Select Provider Networks Inc., the managed care firm announced in a statement Tuesday.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. 

Under the agreement, Birmingham, Alabama-based Select Provider Networks, also known as SPNet, will retain its name and operate independently.

SPNet was founded in 2008 and provides managed rehabilitation services for the workers compensation industry that include peer-to-peer utilization management review.

MedRisk, based in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, is the largest managed care organization providing physical rehabilitation services for injured workers.
