BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Mississippi to revise comp fee schedule

Health care nonprofit FAIR Health on Monday said it has been selected by Mississippi regulators to help the state revise its workers compensation fee schedule.

The New York-based independent organization that aims to bring transparency to health care costs and health insurance information, said in a statement that it has been assigned the task of analyzing, revising and updating the rules and rate tables for the workers compensation fee schedule, which includes values for medical, anesthesia, transportation, dental procedures and other services.

The Mississippi Workers’ Compensation Commission updates the fee schedule every three years, per law, providing interim updates in the second and third years of the cycle, according to the statement. In addition to supporting the 2019 fee schedule development, FAIR Health — in its first contract with Mississippi — will assist with interim updates in 2020 and 2021, “ensuring that the fee schedule remains current, comprehensive and geographically relevant, thus meeting the needs of injured workers and all stakeholders,” according to the statement.

FAIR Health says it will distribute the revisions to providers, administrators and other interested parties on its website.
