BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

OSHA cites nursing home for workplace violence

U.S. workplace safety regulators have cited a Colorado nursing home for failing to protect its employees from workplace violence.

The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration cited Pioneer Health Care Center of Rocky Ford in Rocky Ford, Colorado, after opening an investigation in response to two complaints related to workplace violence received in August 2017, according to an agency statement Monday.

OSHA identified five documented incidents of workplace violence last year that resulted in employee injuries, along with several unreported incidents, and issued one serious citation for failing to implement adequate measures to protect employees from workplace violence hazards, according to the statement.

The nursing home faces proposed penalties of $9,054.

A company spokesperson could not be immediately reached for comment.
