Sedgwick Claims Management Services Inc. has partnered with Accolade Inc., an on-demand health care concierge, to launch a whole health solution that aims to help injured workers’ navigate the workers compensation system.
Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania-based Accolade is a health care concierge service that partners with health systems to improve patient outcomes, Sedgwick said Monday in a statement.
The new program links Sedgwick’s expertise in workers comp, leave of absence and disability with a health assistant to work closely with patients, according to the statement.
“Using the whole health approach can increase employee satisfaction and engagement, reduce claim durations and lost workdays, and decrease claim costs,” Dave North, Sedgwick president and CEO, said in the statement.
“Together, we’re adding significant features to the Accolade and Sedgwick platforms to give people the support they need in navigating the complexities of health care and related leave programs,” said Rob Cavanaugh, Accolade president, in the statement.
Sedgwick Claims Management Services Inc. has pledged $100,000 to the Spencer Educational Foundation over three years to establish the Steven E. Penman Memorial Scholarship in tribute to the company’s late chief operating officer.
