Axa XL names specialty leader

Axa XL, a unit of Axa SA, Thursday named Maria Duhart chief underwriting officer for its specialty niche business in the Americas.
She replaces Alex Blanco, who joined Bermuda-based Vantage Group Holdings Ltd. as CEO of insurance in November.
The specialty niche business includes political risk insurance, trade credit and commercial bonds; war, terrorism and political violence insurance; fine art and specie, leisure and entertainment, and structured solutions, an Axa XL statement said.
Previously, Summit, New Jersey-based Ms. Duhart headed Axa XL’s commercial bonds business.
She will report to Donna Nadeau, chief underwriting officer for the Americas.
