Zurich appoints tort reform advocate

Zurich North America said Tuesday it has named Allen Kirsh to the new position of head of claims judicial and legislative affairs.
Zurich said in its statement Mr. Kirsh, who is based in Schaumburg, Illinois, will be responsible “for developing and implementing a claims-focused strategy to influence the judicial and legislative agendas in key jurisdictions across the United States.”
It said this will include advocating for changes in the law consistent with tort reform issues; supporting justices and legislators “who fairly balance industry and social interests”; and collaborating with business leaders and trade associations “to drive a fair legal process for claim adjudication.”
Zurich said Mr. Kirsh has been with Zurich since 2002 and has served as head of claims staff legal since August 2019.
