Mosaic Insurance Holdings Inc. on Tuesday named Jon Hutchens, a former partner at law firm Dentons, as senior vice president, global head of tax, in its U.S.-based transactional liability insurance practice.
Based in Virginia, Mr. Hutchens will report to William Monat, executive vice president, global head of transactional liability at Mosaic.
Mr. Hutchens will lead tax insurance underwriting and decisions on tax risks in North America, the United Kingdom, Europe and Asia-Pacific region, Mosaic said in a statement.
Mr. Hutchens’ previous work as a tax lawyer focused on cross-border transactions and structures, including mergers and acquisitions, restructuring and expansions. He has also counseled issuers on treatment of financial instruments and advised insurers on tax risks connected with specialty policies.
Mosaic launched its transactional coverage in the U.S. in July, amid a surge in M&A activity.
Mosaic Insurance Holdings Ltd. has recruited senior transactional risk executives Stavan Desai, formerly at American International Group Inc., and Katherine Spenner, previously with Everest Re Group Ltd.
