BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Brown & Brown Inc. said Tuesday its retail businesses will rebrand as Brown & Brown effective, Jan. 1, 2022.

The unified brand will bring together many businesses within the company, including Beecher Carlson Insurance Services LLC, its large account unit, which the Daytona Beach, Florida-based brokerage acquired in 2013.

Operating as a single brand will streamline resources across the organization, said P. Barrett Brown, president of the retail segment and executive vice president of Brown & Brown.

The rebrand was “highly desired” by the leadership across the organization, Mr. Brown said.

Beecher Carlson CEO Joe Siech and the Beecher Carlson staff will remain in their current roles, Brown & Brown said.

Brown & Brown’s retail business, with 5,800 employees and more than 130 offices, reported total revenue of $1.473 billion in 2020 and organic revenue growth of 2.4%.

“Brown & Brown’s retail offices will continue to operate within the company’s decentralized sales and service model. This includes any decisions related to staffing,” Mr. Brown said.

As part of the change, Brown & Brown will introduce a new logo for its retail segment and launch a single retail website and LinkedIn page.

In addition to commercial insurance, the retail segment provides employee benefits, personal lines, auto dealer services, risk management and other services.

Brown & Brown’s national programs, Bridge Specialty Group and services segment are not included in the rebrand, the brokerage said.

Brown & Brown is the fifth-ranked broker in Business Insurance’s most recent listing of leading brokers by 2020 brokerage revenue generated by U.S clients.
