Beazley hires chief underwriting officer from Axis

Beazley PLC on Friday named former Axis Capital Holdings Ltd. executive Bob Quane as chief underwriting officer, based in New York.
Mr. Quane fills the position left vacant when Adrian Cox became CEO in April. He will start in the role on Oct. 11, subject to regulatory approval, the London-based specialty insurer said in a statement.
Mr. Quane was previously chief underwriting officer of the insurance segment at Axis and has more than three decades of industry experience. Prior to that, he held various senior roles at American International Group Inc., including head of global commercial property.
Mr. Quane will join Beazley’s executive committee.
