Aon hires former Guy Carpenter exec

Aon PLC has named former Guy Carpenter & Co. LLC executive Eric Schwebach to the newly created position of senior managing director of Aon’s Reinsurance Solutions, the broker said in a statement Thursday.
Mr. Schwebach will focus on major clients and new business. He will be based in Minneapolis and report to Trevor Dorr, executive managing director of Reinsurance Solutions.
Mr. Schwebach joins from reinsurance broker Guy Carpenter, where he was most recently a senior vice president and member of the company’s North American property/casualty treaty broking unit.
Prior to Guy Carpenter, he was part of Aon Benfield’s client development and production teams based in the Chicago office and began his reinsurance career at Benfield in 2006.
The move takes place against the backdrop of tumult in the reinsurance sector in the wake of the U.S. Justice Department’s suit to block the $30 billion merger of Aon and Willis Towers Watson PLC.
