Axa XL, the property/casualty and specialty risk division of Axa SA, has named Matthew V. O’Malley U.S. country manager.
Mr. O’Malley will be based in Exton, Pennsylvania, and report to Joe Tocco, CEO of Axa XL’s Americas region.
In October 2020, Mr. O’Malley was appointed Axa XL’s East U.S. zone leader when Axa XL launched a new operating model that included a new zone structure. Friday’s appointment extends his responsibilities as U.S. country manager, with broader oversight of Axa XL’s business in the U.S.
Mr. O’Malley most recently led Axa XL’s North America environmental insurance and had underwriting management responsibility for its excess and surplus casualty business.
Axa XL, a division of Axa SA, on Tuesday would not elaborate on possible job losses as it unveiled a series of executive changes and restructured its business into three units across the Americas, Eurasia and the United Kingdom and Lloyd’s market.
