Axis appoints cyber exec for strategy, innovation

Axis Insurance, a unit of Pembroke, Bermuda-based Axis Capital Holdings Ltd., said Thursday it named Max Perkins to the newly created position of head of strategy and innovation for the company’s global cyber and technology unit, effective immediately.
The company said in its statement Mr. Perkins, who is based in Durham, North Carolina, will provide a focal point for innovation opportunities and future product development and help develop resources to expand the company’s cyber insurance training services.
Mr. Perkins, who will report to Dan Trueman, London-based global head of cyber and technology for Axis Insurance, was most recently senior vice president at Lockton Cos. LLC. Axis launched the cyber unit in November 2018.
Axis Insurance named Michael Carr head of U.S. excess and surplus property earlier this month.
