BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

The Virginia Workers Compensation Commission announced Tuesday that it has closed and will remain so until further notice as a precautionary measure after an employee began exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19.

The commission’s headquarters will undergo cleaning and disinfection and the department is working with the Virginia Department of Health to identify and notify employees and others who may also have been exposed to coronavirus, the commission said in a statement.

Parties who need to file documents with the commission can continue to do so via fax or WebFile, but any filing deadlines will be extended by the next business day on which the commission clerk’s office is open. The commission’s customer contact center phone line (877-664-2566) will remain open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. and the commission is working to accommodate upcoming hearing and mediation schedules.
