Liberty Mutual names leader of new practice group

Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. has formed an individual practice to grow its private equity and mergers and acquisitions business, headed by longtime underwriter Amy Gross as practice leader, the insurer said in a statement Thursday.
The practice will offer a range of primary, excess, specialty and representations and warranties coverage, Boston-based Liberty Mutual said.
Boston-based Ms. Gross was previously vice president and division underwriting manager of Liberty Mutual’s Global Risk Solutions division’s national insurance risk management unit, the insurer said.
Previously, private equity and M&A business was handled by various divisions within the insurer’s Global Risk Solutions division, a Liberty Mutual spokesman said via email.
