Coverys unit buys Rome-based Lloyd's coverholder

Coverys European Holdings Ltd., a unit of Boston-based medical professional liability insurer Coverys, said Thursday it has acquired a Rome-based Lloyd’s coverholder and broker.
Coverys said in its statement that AAEC SpA, which is also a third-party administrator and managing general agency, provides specialist liability products throughout Italy.
The statement said AEC’s team, led by CEO Fabrizio Callarà will continue to manage the business.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed in the statement.
Coverys said Monday it has launched Coverys European Holdings, an agency platform and network that will invest in, and collaborate with, managing general agencies in Continental Europe and the United Kingdom that specialize in professional lines.
