BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Brokerage CAC Specialty has recruited former Ryan Specialty Group LLC underwriter Jordan B. Tamchin to head the tax insurance department of its transactional liability practice.

The appointment is one a string of new appointments at CAC Specialty, which was formed by Birmingham, Alabama-based brokerage Cobbs Allen earlier this year.

Denver-based Mr. Tamchin, who will be a CAC Specialty senior vice president, most recently was vice president, tax insurance counsel for Concord Specialty Risk, part of RSG’s underwriting management business, a CAC Specialty statement said.

Prior to RSG, he was a tax attorney at law firm Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP.

Also joining CAC Specialty is tax attorney Debra Aboodi, who previously was an associate at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP.

CAC Specialty has recruited several senior brokers and established new practice groups over the past several months, including former executive chairman of JLT Specialty USA Michael Rice as CEO of the brokerage.

Last week, it hired a team of three former JLT brokers to run its newly formed environmental practice. San Francisco-based Gregory Schilz was named executive vice president of CAC Specialty, and Miami-based Grant Nichols and New York-based Brian Lu were named senior vice presidents.
