Former Aon exec joins rival Ed

Ed Broking Group Ltd. said Thursday it has appointed former Aon PLC executive John Turner as chairman of its Bermuda operation, reporting to Chris Bonard, CEO of Ed Bermuda.
In the newly created role, Mr. Turner will provide hands-on support in the day-to-day broking business as Ed builds its recently launched Bermuda operation, the brokerage said in a statement.
Mr. Turner was previously chairman of commercial risk solutions for the U.K. and Americas at Aon PLC and has more than 40 years’ experience in the industry, Ed said.
He will be based in Bermuda.
BGC Partners Inc. acquired London-based Ed Broking Group Ltd. last year.
