BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Longtime Marsh LLC property insurance executive Duncan Ellis has left the brokerage to join American International Group Inc., the insurer announced Tuesday.

New York-based Mr. Ellis, who headed Marsh’s U.S. property practice and spent more than 25 years at the firm, will join AIG as head of retail property, North America general insurance in late September, AIG said in a statement.

Mr. Ellis’ departure comes two weeks after another senior Marsh broker, Devin Beresheim, who headed its U.S. financial and professional liability practice, left to join rival Lockton Cos. LLC.

Mr. Ellis will report to Ken Riegler, president of North America general insurance, product and field management at AIG, the statement said.

In a separate statement, Marsh said Mr. Ellis would be replaced by Michael Rouse, who most recently was Marsh’s U.S. property placement leader, and Mr. Beresheim would be replaced by Michelle Sartain, who previously was U.S. sales leader in the brokerage’s FINPRO practice.

Mr. Rouse and Ms. Sartain, who are both based in New York, will join Marsh’s U.S. executive committee, the statement said. Mr. Rouse will report to Martin South, president of U.S. and Canada for Marsh, and Ms. Sartain will report to Pat Donnelly, Marsh JLT Specialty leader for U.S. and Canada.
