BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Car insurance

Contrary to the marketing slogan made popular by a talking gecko, it might not save you money to switch your car insurer.

So says shop-around website carinsuranceplan.org, which claims in a post Tuesday that “switching to a new insurance company can help drivers pay lower premiums, but in some cases, this action will have the opposite effect.”

According to the site, drivers should stay with the same insurer for such bonuses as renewal discounts, better bundling of other policies and accident forgiveness.

“Drivers who are considering switching their carriers should check if the renewed insurance premiums are better than the current ones,” according to the post. “Some insurance companies are offering a small discount upon renewal to their loyal customers.”

On accident forgiveness, the site said loyalty also pays for people who “managed to maintain a clean driving record for several years” and that accident forgiveness can prevent premiums from increasing in the event of one incident on an otherwise clean record.
