BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Ryan Specialty unit expands agents/brokers professional liability cover

Emergin Risk, a London-based managing general underwriter that is part of the Ryan Specialty Group LLC and a division of RSG Underwriting Managers LLC, said Wednesday it is expanding its insurance agents and brokers professional liability program, including offering increased sublimits.

The statement said the enhanced product, with the new name (In)fuse 2.0, includes increased sublimits for coverages such as governmental and disciplinary proceedings and subpoena expense and time off work expense for the policyholder and its employees. Catastrophic extra expense coverage was added to the policy as well, and several exclusions have been removed, including bad faith and insured vs. insured, among other changes, according to the statement.

A company spokeswoman said in a statement the reason for increasing the sublimits “is that the costs to handle these exposures have increased, so there is a need in the market for higher limits on these supplementary expenses.”

The sublimit for governmental and disciplinary proceedings is now $100,000; the sublimit for time-off-work and subpoena defense expense is now $20,000; and the sublimit for catastrophe extra expense is $50,000, according to the spokeswoman's statement.

Claims handling for the policy continues to be coordinated by Memphis, Tennessee-based Sedgwick Claims Management Services Inc.

RSG Underwriting Managers said in November it would combine its Emergin Risk and ThinkRisk managing general underwriter teams.
