Ryan Specialty names global compliance officer

Longtime compliance and risk management executive Michael Blackshear has joined Ryan Specialty Group LLC as a senior vice president and global chief compliance officer, the company said Wednesday.
Based in the company’s Chicago headquarters, Mr. Blackshear will be a “critical member of our senior management team,” Patrick G. Ryan, founder, chairman and chief executive officer of Ryan Specialty Group said in a statement.
In the role, Mr. Blackshear is responsible for providing leadership and management to maintain and grow an effective compliance regulatory framework for the specialty insurer, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Mr. Blackshear was previously North America chief compliance officer for Chubb Ltd., where he was responsible for the insurer’s compliance framework integration and transformation during its merger with Ace Ltd., the statement said.
Prior to that, he held various leadership roles with Marsh & McLennan Cos. Inc., focusing on compliance and government affairs, Ryan Specialty Group said.
