BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Berkley names president of professional liability unit

W.R. Berkley Corp. said Monday it has named Daniel R. Spragg president of Berkley Select, its professional liability unit.

Mr. Spragg was previously partner and co-founder of A&M Insurance & Risk Management Services in Philadelphia, a unit of Alvarez & Marsal Holdings LLC, according to his LinkedIn account.

Greenwich, Connecticut-based Berkley said in January that its Berkley Select and Monitor Liability Managers units, both based in Chicago, would now operate under the Berkley Select name.

Berkley Select had previously operated as an underwriting manager specializing in professional liability products, while Monitor Liability had been offering professional liability insurance.

It said at that time that Joseph G. Shores, who was president of both units, would continue as the new unit’s president. A Berkley spokesman could not immediately be reached for comment as to why Mr. Shores has left the position.
