Hub buys health care specialty brokerage

Hub International Ltd. on Wednesday said it has acquired Providence, Rhode Island-based health care specialist RIMS Insurance Brokerage Corp.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
RIMS Insurance Brokerage has offered medical professional liability insurance as well as life, health, disability, workers compensation and businessowners insurance and other coverages since 1988, Chicago-based Hub said in a statement.
The acquisition strengthens Hub’s health care focus and the expertise and services it provides to medical practices and health care facilities in Rhode Island, the statement said.
Robert Anderson, president of RIMS Insurance Brokerage, will join Hub New England and will report to Daniel Nissi, president of the health care specialty practice for Hub New England, according to the statement.
Hub is the world’s sixth-largest insurance brokerage, according to Business Insurance’s latest ranking.
